The Department of English in Bishop Caldwell College is contributing an astounding service to the institution since its inception in 1996 .The department is striving to achieve our departmental motto “Speak to Shine” . The department aims in providing in depth aesthetic knowledge and an eagerness to appreciate the language and help them to build their career in a profitable manner. However, it became a full-fledged department only when B A English was started in 2012.The department facilitates all round development in students through excellence and education and to equip them with literary and communicative competencies to meet the changes and challenges in the competitive world.
To envision the department as a center for academic excellence and to acquire proficient knowledge in literature and empower the studentsto emerge as an eminent individual.
To make the students fluent in English language. To introduce students to different genres of English Language by giving exposure to their horizon of imagination. To widen the literary discourses studied and accommodates more contemporary interests. To offer training in communication skills and to excel in public speaking.
