The Department of Sociology is one of the oldest Departments in our college, started in 2003. It is the only college to introduce Sociology in UG course in and around Tuticorin district. Our department has created many sociologists who have acquired jobs in Government sectors. The department strives to create students social awareness and social concern towards our society and enable our students to implement social welfare schemes in our society..
To produce under graduates students, who develop broad knowledge about the contemporary world with unique analytical skills and the ability to think critically and constructively and to solve problems through team work.
To generate young sociologists in our contemporary society. To train and to promote social justice in the society. To empower students to attain the knowledge about sociology.
